About Sam
Sam went straight from school to Art College and graduated with an honours degree in Design and Craft from Grays School of Art, Aberdeen. She ran her own business designing and making jewellery for 20 years and while she began quilting as a hobby, it has gradually taken over.
She completed the City & Guilds Diploma in Patchwork & Quilting in 2019 and was nominated for the City & Guilds Bursary award, which gave her the opportunity for a gallery space to show her work (you may have seen it at the Festival of Quilts at the NEC that year.)
Since then she has been creating her own work, exhibiting and teaching with Gillian Cooper on the City & Guilds courses, as well as designing talks and workshops of her own. While based in Livingston, Scotland, she is more than happy to travel to wherever you are to give you the talk in person. She will also tailor her talks or workshops to whatever your group needs.
Most recently – Sam is taking over from Gillian Cooper in teaching the City & Guilds Courses in Patchwork and Quilting.
She is dedicated to sharing her knowledge of design, and her love of fabric and all the different techniques used to create something beautiful; passing it on to those who want to develop their own creativity and skills.
